Hello! My name is Ann. I do this website as a tribute to Brenda Lee for her fans. I have been married for 42 years and have one daughter named Jolie Leeann who is 39 years old. I have lived in North Carolina since 1992. Before that I lived in Orlando, Florida for 22 years.

I have been a Brenda Lee fan since 1958. I was 12 years old and Brenda was 14. My first Brenda Lee album was "Emotions". The first time I saw Brenda in person, the summer of 1961, she was 16. I lived in Cocoa, Florida, and Brenda was appearing in Orlando at the Municipal Auditorium, which is about 40 miles from Cocoa. My mother and father drove my sister, my friend Dannell and myself to Orlando for Brenda's afternoon performance. The price to get in was $2.00, remember that was over 40 some years ago. That was the first time I had ever been to a concert of any kind. After Brenda's performance, which was great, of course, she signed autographs around back of the auditorium. I remember waiting for what seemed for ever for her to come out.

Finally they raised a garage type door and there sat Brenda on a stool wearing blue shorts and a blue shell top and her shoes were slip ons with cork wedge heels.

I took lots of pictures with my little Brownie camera. The pictures all turned out so good I took them to school to show my classmates. Then the most awful thing happened. I left my wallet in my desk during lunch and when I came back someone had stolen my wallet with all my Brenda Lee pictures. I didn't care one bit about the wallet missing, I was so upset that my Brenda Lee pictures were gone. So always take your Brenda Lee pictures with you. I would give anything to have those pictures today.

The next time I got to see Brenda in person was in 1968. She was appearing at Lee Caron's Carnival Club in Cocoa Beach, Florida. By this time I was married, so my hubby went with me. I think that is the first and last time he has seen Brenda in person. I didn't get any pictures at that performance, because I had never been to a night club before and I didn't know you could bring cameras. Brenda was expecting her second daughter, Jolie, at that time.

Brenda had Jolie in January of 1969. I had been married about 3 years at the time. If I ever had a little girl, I had always planned to name her Brenda Lee, of course. But in the meantime when a relative or friend would have a baby girl I would suggest they name her Brenda. Well they did. So when I finally found out I was gonna have a baby I had decided to name it Julie if it were a girl after Brenda's first daughter. But wouldn't you know it before I had mine a relative had a little girl and named her Julie so I couldn't see having two Julie's with the same last name in the same family. So since my daughter was born in December of 1969 I named her Jolie after Brenda's second daughter.

I have seen Brenda many, many times since 1969. Too many to write about here, but I just wanted to share a little about my first Brenda Lee concert and how my daughter got her name.
