Owen Bradley
1915-1998
Country Music lost the pioneer of the Nashville
Sound and the man that started Music Row
in 1955 with
the opening of the first recording
studio, "The Quonset Hut".
Owen Bradley passed away in January
of 1998. He was 82 years old.
He was responsible for creating the careers of
Patsy Cline, Ernest Tubb, Conway Twitty,
Loretta Lynn, Bill Anderson and of course,
Miss Dynamite, BRENDA LEE.
In a statement
released to the media, Brenda said, "I've lost a man who for most of my
childhood and all of my adult life, has been a father figure, a best friend, a mentor, and above
all someone I loved and respected with the whole of my heart."
At
his Memorial Service held at the famous Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, the country music industry
gathered to say their Good-byes.
Brenda
said, "This one's for you Owen" as she sang,
"Peace In the Valley".
